The Women in Business (WIB) Committee of the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce will host the annual APEX Awards Gala at 6:30 pm on Saturday, September 20. The APEX Award Gala awards represents a tradition of celebrating and recognizing women in the community for professional excellence, community service and actively assisting others in attaining professional goals and leadership skills.

The APEX Awards will recognize the 2014 recipients, Kathryn Kelly with The Heights Foundation and Sonya Sawyer with Home-Tech. This black-tie optional event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa and will feature dinner, dancing and a silent auction. The proceeds from the silent auction will be contributed to non-traditional female scholarships in the name of the 2014 recipients. The 2013 Apex recipient Mei-Mei Chan will also present her APEX Scholarship award from the funds raised at last year’s APEX Awards.

“Kathryn and Sonya are excellent examples of the women in our community who give so much of their time professionally and personally,” said Debra Newell, APEX Awards Event Chair. “They are great additions to our APEX Circle which consist of outstanding women in past years that are still committed to serving our community, mentoring other women and providing professional excellence in all they do.”
