Above Board Chamber helps businesses plan for the future

October 14, 2021 CONRIC PR

Business leaders want to preserve their brand integrity and reputation long after they have left the workforce. That’s why the Above Board Chamber of Florida is bringing together expert panels on November 8 and November 11 to discuss “The Need for a Succession Plan,” and to share important information and insight during its monthly luncheons.

“These panels are going to show people how to be ready for the future when they are selling their business,” said Jeanne Sweeney, founder of the Above Board Chamber of Florida. “Top business leaders will come together to share their insights in succession plans. People have to be ready at all times and keep their things in order.”

Panelists include:

  • Theo Etzel III – Director/Partner of Conditioned Air, Author of Invest Your Heartbeats Wisely: Practical, Philosophical, and Principled Leadership Concepts;
  • Joseph De Sena – Managing Director of Siena Wealth Advisory Group;
  • Karen Mosteller, CPA, SHBC – Partner/Medical and Business Consulting at Markham Norton Mosteller Wright & Company, P.A. and
  • Keith Veres, CPA, CGMA, CEPA – Director of Corporate Finance at HBK CPAs & Consultants/Financial Advisor at HBKS Wealth Advisors/Investor.

Etzel stresses that this is an important topic for business leaders to address. “Succession planning, and then a mapped-out plan, is a necessity for a business to survive the eventual ownership and /or leadership transition,” Etzel said. “Searching for, or mentoring, a replacement leader takes time. Too often, people fail to start this process far enough into the future to make it a smooth one. You simply can’t wake up one morning and think, ‘It’s time for me to sell or step down, and I want that to happen right away.’ That has a lot of risk for failure.”

Meetings will be held in both Naples and Fort Myers; each on the same topic, but with different emcees.

The Naples meeting will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, November 8th at the Hilton Naples at 5111 Tamiami Trail N. Vicki Thomas Tracy, Chief Operating Officer at Gulf Coast International Properties, will emcee.
